Frequently Asked Questions

Are you a school

We are not a school. We are a homeschool cooperative, which gives parents a chance to work together to enrich their students' home education experience.

Does co-op replace home learning

While we do have a few high school classes that offer transcript credit (dependent upon student completing all work), most of our classes offer support and enrichment to the core curriculum you are pursuing at home. Families are ultimately responsible for fulfilling their state's requirements at home.

Does this Co-op count as an "association" under SC homeschooling option 3

No, we do not.

Are we required to be Baptist to join

No, but families must agree with, and abide by, the entirety of our statement of faith.

Do we have to attend all day

While we encourage families to take as many classes as possible to foster relationships and experience this wonderful opportunity to build community, there is no minimum requirement of classes a student must take to participate.

Are parents required to teach?

Our co-op has many opportunities to serve, not just in teaching! We have Nursery/Preschool staff, classroom helpers, a building care team, and an activities committee that oversees lunch.

Can I just drop off my kids?

We really are a cooperative and rely on everyone pitching in to make things run smoothly. Special allowances may be made in extenuating circumstances for high schoolers only for a significantly higher fee.

Do you have openings? How can we join?

Please contact westsidecoopinfo@gmail.com to find out about availability and to receive an information packet and application.
